Lifecycle Marketing Manager

Full-Time | Chicago (Hybrid)

ABOUT SONGFINCH

We believe music has the power to kindle emotions, transform moments and make truly unforgettable memories.

Today we…

  • Have helped bring nearly 400,000 emotive experiences like these to life with custom music
  • Are a proud partner to a curated community of 1,200+ talented artists who have earned more than $40M creating on our platform
  • Have an AI-assisted music engine that powers a range of B2C and B2B2C offerings
  • Have enormous upside and growth potential beyond the ~24,000% 3-year jump we’ve already experienced

We’ve built a brand, suite of products and an overall experience that makes people cry (in the best way possible). Now, we’re looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to make sure they come back, bring others, and never forget us.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re sitting on a goldmine of first-party data:

  • 4M+ emails from customers and site engaging non-customers
  • Nearly 100k+ phone numbers
  • A rich set of tracked behavioral events across our funnel
  • Deep segmentation capabilities through Customer.io

We’re looking for a strategic and executional powerhouse to turn these assets into consistent, tangible business outcomes: converting leads, increasing repeat purchase rate, driving LTV, and deepening emotional engagement.

As our Lifecycle Marketing Manager, you’ll design, build, and own the end-to-end lifecycle strategy — from onboarding and triggered flows to winbacks, promotional campaigns, and personalized journeys.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design and execute a full-funnel lifecycle strategy, from lead nurture to post-purchase retention
  • Build high-impact triggered and broadcast campaigns across email, SMS, and in-platform posts and notifications that drive measurable revenue
  • Segment audiences based on behavior, recency, intent, and emotional triggers to create personalized, meaningful journeys
  • Build and work with creative partners to ensure lifecycle content feels on-brand and emotionally resonant
  • Work cross-functionally with Growth, Product, and Data to connect lifecycle strategy to broader customer experience
  • Analyze performance, run experiments, and make data-informed decisions to improve engagement and conversion
  • Report on KPIs like open rates, click-throughs, conversion, AOV, and customer retention/repeat rate
  • Help shape and grow the Lifecycle function as a core driver of business growth

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has spent 5+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing roles within B2C startup environments
  • Has deep experience leveraging tools (Customer IO or similar) to build segmented, automated campaigns
  • Can showcase a proven track record of increasing retention, LTV, and conversion through lifecycle programs
  • Is a creative and strategic thinker with a bias for action and experimentation
  • Possesses strong analytical chops and is fluent in using data to drive insights and optimize campaigns
  • Has a strong grasp of messaging, copywriting, and email/SMS best practices
  • Is comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing decisions outside of direct authority
  • Operates with a high level of curiosity - explores, experiments, and employs new AI tools, technologies, and methodologies in pursuit of personal and team growth and increased output

WHY JOIN SONGFINCH?

  • You’ll own one of the highest-leverage roles in our growth engine
  • You’ll join a mission-led brand that customers and artists alike, love (and cry about)
  • You’ll get the autonomy to build, test, and scale what works — fast
  • You’ll work with a high-performing team that is passionate, creative, and scrappy in an ego-free environment

COMPENSATION

During our interview process, we will review your background and local market data and use a mix of qualitative assessments to determine where you fall in our salary range. We will discuss compensation early and be transparent throughout the hiring process.

  • Salary range - $85,000 to $125,000 - This does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits and company stock options.
