Introducing: Shoutout Videos!
We’re excited to share a new paid add-on you can now offer to your customers:
Shoutout Videos!
These are quick, casual videos from you to the person receiving the song. The idea is to:
•Highlight that you and the purchaser worked together to bring their song to life
•Share a little bit about the process in your own words
•Give the purchaser some extra credit by showing the recipient that this came straight from a real artist
•Build excitement and make the whole experience feel even more personal and memorable

What makes a great Shoutout Video?

Talk to the recipient of the song like you know them - you do!
You already wrote the song. Now you’re just showing up as you and making it personal.
Tips
- Address it to the recipient
- Mention one detail that stood out to you when you wrote the song.
- Give props to the gifter for helping make this experience happen.
- Thank them for letting you be part of this special moment.
- Be warm, relaxed, and real.
- A clever angle could be giving props to the gifter in the video. Example: "John actually told me you're the creative one in the relationship, but I gotta say, without his input, there's no way this song would have come to life the way it did."
- The goal here is to make them feel like "wow! that amazing experience was this cheap?! I would have paid more for it!"
- Don't make it too short. Anything less than 30 seconds will feel like you phoned it in.
- Look out for any special request notes from the customer!
Example:
“Hey Amber, it’s Brad! Happy Anniversary! I loved getting to write this song for you. It was awesome that your husband Matt asked me to pull all of these special details together and make this song. All of those memories of sunsets and forest camping totally stayed with me. Hope it makes you both smile.”

Record it!
You can totally use your phone for this. In fact, that’s usually best.
If you want to go bigger with lights or a camera setup, that’s cool too, but it’s not required.
It’s about the message, more than the production.
A solid video length is 30 - 60 seconds. One shot is perfect, no need to do crazy editing.
Tips
- Make sure the lighting is good. Face a window or light so your face is bright and clear.
- Make sure the audio is clean. Record in a quiet room, not in a car, not while walking, not during errands.
- Keep the camera steady. Prop your phone up or use a tripod.
- Frame yourself from the chest up.
- Look right into the camera like you’re talking to them.
- Smile. You’re the artist who made their song. They want to feel that connection.
- Personalize it to them; never try to reuse a shoutout video for another person.

Deliver it
When you're done, head to the "Add-Ons" tab on your dashboard, click on this order, and upload it. It will then go straight to your customer's song page.
After delivery, be on the lookout for new comments of excitement and even tips showing up through that song page!

How to get started
ACTIVATE THIS + ADD AN EXAMPLE
Head to the new link on your dashboard called "Your Songfinch Services" to activate this feature by setting "Shoutout Video" to "active". If you don't want to offer these right now, select “inactive”. You can change this at any time.
Then, click the little gear icon next to Shoutout Video to upload your example. You can change it at any time.
STARTING PAYOUT: $12.50
Every shoutout you create adds a little more magic to someone’s story, and now it pays to do it. We charge $24.99 for each shoutout and split it right down the middle with you. In the future, this add-on will become one that you can set the price for (stay tuned for Dynamic Pricing!).
